Discover the art and craftsmanship of stained glass with Lauren Wzorek Earl of Szklo Glass, in our seasonal Modern Stained Glass Ornament Workshop. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this hands-on class offers a great opportunity to learn the traditional methods used in making stunning stained glass pieces. * Please make sure to arrive 10 minutes before class begins in order to be checked-in and find seating! Important Safety and Age Requirements: - Must be 18+ as we will be working with hot tools. - Required Attire: For safety, participants must wear pants (or legs fully covered) and closed-toe shoes. - Expecting mothers are advised not to take this workshop. What You’ll Learn: - Introduction to Stained Glass: Begin with an overview of the art. - Leading and Soldering: Learn the traditional methods of assembling glass pieces with lead came and joining the lead came at the joints. (Note: Glass pieces will be pre-cut for assembly. Colors are subject to change.) What You'll Create: Each student will craft their own set of three 3"x3" stained glass ornaments. Guided by expert instruction, you will lead and solder your glass to create a special collection to take home. Who Should Attend: This workshop is perfect for art enthusiasts, DIY lovers, and anyone curious about stained glass. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Artist Bio: Lauren Wzorek Earl began working in the stained glass industry in 2004, focusing on glass cutting and glazing before moving to building stained glass windows full-time. In 2016, she created Szklo Glass, focusing on contemporary glass designs built with traditional methods. The name SZKLO comes from the Polish word for "glass," reflecting Lauren's Polish heritage.
