Service Description

Ages 4+ Join us for a hands-on, creative pottery experience where you’ll make your own matcha bowl and matching whisk holder set using hand-building techniques. This is a 2-hour workshop and does not involve the pottery wheel, making it perfect for beginners and all experience levels. During the class, you’ll use provided templates to cut and shape clay slabs, then assemble the pieces to build your bowl and whisk holder from start to finish. Our instructors will guide you through each step, including proper assembly and smoothing techniques, so your pieces are both functional and beautiful. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to customize your set using cutouts, textures, shapes, and decorative elements. Whether you prefer a clean, minimalist look or something more playful and expressive, you’ll be able to design your pieces to match your personal style. At the end of the workshop, you’ll choose how you’d like your pieces finished. You can select one solid glaze color from five available options, and we’ll glaze and fire your work for you. If you’d like to add extra detail, you’ll also have the option to return for a painting session to hand-paint your pieces for an additional $25. This workshop is beginner-friendly and great for matcha lovers of all ages. Younger participants are welcome with adult assistance. You’ll leave having created a functional, handmade matcha set that’s ready to use and enjoy. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup after firing. Timing details will be shared during the workshop.
